Reflexology
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving the application of gentle pressure to specific points on the feet, hands or face. By stimulating these points, or reflexes, the blood and nerve supply is increased.

Reflexology is not the same as a massage. Nor is it a substitute for conventional medical treatment.
How does reflexology work?
There are thousands of nerve endings in your feet, hands and face which correspond to and send messages about specific parts of the body to and from your brain.

Through reflexology, any blockages in nerve and/or blood supply can be released, and your circulation is boosted which stimulates your body to heal itself and find balance.
What health conditions can reflexology help with?
Reflexology is particularly beneficial for the relief of stress, tension and anxiety. It also rebalances hormones, boosts your immune system, improves your sleep, flushes your body of toxins and generally boosts your energy levels.

And it can do so much more! Drop me a message if you have a specific condition or ailment you would like addressed.
Can a reflexologist diagnose my ailments?
No! Reflexologists are not medically trained. I can help you with certain ailments and conditions once they are diagnosed but if you are feeling unwell, you should seek advice from a medical expert.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It works alongside conventional medicine.
How often can I have reflexology?
As often as you like. If you are having treatments to promote general relaxation and wellbeing, then I would suggest one session per month. If you wish to address a certain ailment or condition, I might suggest a certain frequency over a certain period of time.

However, the frequency of treatments is entirely up to you and your own personal preference. Some clients enjoy treatments once per week.
What can I expect from a reflexology treatment?
At your first appointment I will ask you some health questions to better understand what you might be looking for from your treatment and then tailor your session to your exact needs.

I will begin every session with a short wellbeing questionnaire to check up on how you have been. Then you make yourself comfortable on the treatment chair, recline back and relax!
How can I prepare for my reflexology treatment?
It is a good idea not to eat a heavy meal less than an hour before your treatment. Please do not drink alcohol before your appointment. Wear comfortable clothing you will find it easy to relax in.

Other than that, there is nothing else to do before enjoying your treatment.
Is reflexology safe during pregnancy?
Yes, reflexology is totally safe and beneficial during pregnancy. I can provide reflexology for pre-conception, antenatal and priming for labour. Please let me know if you would like a treatment that focuses on any of these.
What should I wear for my reflexology session?
Wear comfortable clothing to your reflexology session. You will be lying on a massage or reclining chair so you will want to feel relaxed.

I provide you with a heated blanket for cold days and a fan and open windows for hot days.

During a reflexology session, only your feet and ankles, hands or face will be exposed.
What about Covid-19?
I provide treatments in a Covid-19 secure environment.

I carry out a risk assessment in advance of your arrival and there are additional precautions in place for you and me to ensure we are safe.
